Créations, which will be released soon by the Italian label Continuo Records, features new music for oboe, either as a solo instrument or with other instruments in various combinations. The works have all been recently premiered by Marika Lombardi, and this double CD includes Leon Gurvitch’s Oboe Sonata which was French premiered in 2013 in Paris with the pianist Nathalie Dang.

07.07.2015Leon GURVITCH widmet seine Komposition “5 Dances in Old Style” für Streichorchester an CLASSIC FOR PEACE, welche im Rahmen des “Internationalen Musikalischen Jugendaustausches 2015″ in Wiesbaden, Darmstadt und Berlin von der Kammerphilharmonie Frankfurt unter der Leitung von Anna SKRYLEVA uraufgeführt wird.
Der letzte Auftritt dürfte vermutlich der meistbesuchte sein: am 5. September beim “Tag der offenen Tür” des Bundesrates in Berlin, zu dem rund 15 000 Gäste erwartet werden.

03.10.2009Leon Gurvitch spielte bei der Verleihung Josef-Neuberger-Medaille an deutsche Künstler Gunter Demnig. Bekannt wurde er durch die „Stolpersteine“, die er für Opfer des Nationalsozialismus verlegt.
Preisträger waren bisher u.a. Johannes Rau, Roman Herzog, Angela Merkel.
